Computing Technologies

Thank you for visiting Computing Technologies. I am Steve Wood, Head of the Department. Key members of my team include my deputy, Dan Read, and Christian Agbai who leads our Key Stage 3 programme. Key Stage 3 (years 7, 8, & 9) follow the new Computing curriculum as prescribed in the NAACE/CAS framework. The new curriculum provides our students with the very best opportunities to prepare them for progression into Key Stage 4 studies in either Computing/Computer Science, Information Technology or Electronics.

Computers are now part of everyday life. For most of us, technology is essential to our lives, at home and at work. ‘Computational thinking’ is a skill children must be taught if they are to be ready for the workplace and able to participate effectively in this digital world.
