Curriculum Overview

Information for Academic Year 2017-2018
We follow a two-week timetable cycle of 50 periods. Each day consists of five 1 hour lessons with a 40-minute registration time at the beginning of each day.
The number of hours per cycle given to each subject is set out below.

Key Stage 5

Year 12 and Year 13


Each subject has 9 hours (smaller classes may have a reduced number of hours).

Students study four subjects from a range of AS Level and BTEC in Year 12 and often drop to three subjects in Year 13.  

Some subjects cannot be dropped at the end of Year 12 because of restrictions placed by the examination board due to new specifications
Some students
study for resit GCSEs in English or mathematics.

In addition, there is also a bespoke Foundation Year programme of Level 2 courses.
