Welcome to the 5th Saturday garden club article. Again we were blessed with good weather and an abundance of willing helpers.
This month we set about tidying around the pond, hoeing and clearing the moss and weeds that had appeared in the block paving and defining the edge of the path.
Some of the younger members decided to work with the litter pickers as it seemed like a lot of fun until they realised that they were picking up litter ( the clue is in the name of the tools kids!) but still enjoyed the task.
Colin ‘The niggly odd job man’ came with two large post and post Crete and donated them to the garden. These are for the start of the new notice board which Colin is building for us and we would like to sincerely thank Colin.
Tea, coffee, cakes along with rock cakes made by Max at 11:00am then back on to weeding and chatting until 12:30pm. Most people stayed until 1:30pm but Shane, Jake and their sister stayed until 3:00pm.
Many thanks to all who attended and for making the garden what it is; a great place to come and chat. The next meeting will be on the 21 June in the garden from 9.30am - 12.30pm. If you want to know more, please contact John Butterworth via firstname.lastname@example.org.
