Synarbor Visit

On Wednesday 19th June, 10 Year 12 students took part in a day trip to a teacher recruitment agency by the name of Synarbor, based in the City.

This unique opportunity allowed Year 12 Business Studies students the chance to uncover some of the key traits and characteristics about the world of commerce and how Sybarbor itself has become a success.

On our arrival in the rather palatial surroundings of their offices we were offered teas, coffees and biscuits…not that any of the students needed a wake-up call. We were guided to one of their conference rooms set in a modern day boardroom style environment. Our speaker was none other than Dean Kelly himself, the CEO of Synarbor. An interesting character who despite coming from humble beginnings became a City success story. This boy done good. He proceeded with a topic on capitalism (Good or Bad) which provoked some interesting points amongst our young entrepreneurs.

The quick fire presentation certainly had everyone on the edge of the seats and the appetite for the latest industry lowdown remain unabated as the boardroom discussions steered towards burning matters such as to ‘Innovate, To plagiarise or to Improve’, creating a business plan, what to say in an elevator pitch, and different leadership styles. We capped off an insightful trip with a walkabout the offices to see a whole array of recruitment consultants, and compliance officers all working frenetically making calls, and gesturing to one another. All the students found the day memorable and found the day extremely valuable. Many Thanks goes to Ms Hobbs, Mr Allotey and the following Year 12 students: Munraj Bindra, Jessica De Sintat, Conor Eames, Tom Freeman, Chris Green, Anvir Lehal, Jessica Olaniyi, Daniel Smith, Bobby Southern, Jennifer Farmer.
