Year 8 Students Learn About Shakespeare

posted 19 Mar 2015, 08:24 by . WebResources Account   [ updated 19 Mar 2015, 08:26 by ]

Hello I am Finlay and I am from Year 8 at Bexleyheath Academy and I am here to report on the Year 8 students work on SHAKESPEARE !

Year 8 have been closely analysing a lot of Shakespeare's plays such as Richard III and Macbeth. Before looking at Shakespeare at Bexleyheath academy, I found it hard to understand the language used, but our class has created some performances which helped me to thoroughly understand what it meant. When studying Shakespeare, we have discovered that each play can be romantic, comedic, scary or it can be in the original Shakespearean style. It's amazing how we can change the whole feel of the play by changing how you say the words! Performing made Shakespeare fun and helped me, and many other students understand the language that is used.

We have been interviewing teachers around the Academy and wanted to find out if they have a life outside of the classroom, because when we come to school in the morning, the teachers are here and when we leave in the evening, our teachers are still here!
We interviewed Miss Pye who is a very busy Psychology teacher in the Academy, this is what she had to share with us.
