On a cold winter's afternoon in Hall Place, 22 Bexleyheath Academy students took part in the Cross Country Championships. With teams ranging from years 7 to 10, we were ready to dominate.

Mason kicked the afternoon off coming 2nd place out of 100+ year 7 boys, missing out on first place due to his orienteering skills, but what a fantastic effort. Following his footsteps came Joe  at 7th place, securing two of the top ten places. Not far behind were Harry  and Ben  in 28th and 29th place, and to finish in the top 50 fantastic performers was Jack. Well-done lads, brilliant effort.

Our Year 7 girls weren’t going to let the boys steal the limelight on this event and all four finished within the top 20 places!! Starting in 10th place was Olivia, followed by Ellie at 13th and Phoebe at 15th, with Molly gaining 17th – what an exciting race that was. A special mention goes to Tia, who had to drop out mid race due to injury, but stayed out in the rain to support her team.

The Year 8 girls then took to the stage, with Summer, Naomi and Daria all finishing the course in under 13 minutes.

Nate finished in the top tenth position with Dhrien and Luke all completing in under 15 minutes.

Josh went it alone for the year 10 boys and finished in 15 minutes – great effort Josh!

And finally a huge well-done to the year 10 girls again finishing in the top 50 students in the race. Onyi crossing the line first, closely behind was Sophie  with Grace  and Najma following.
