Good Samaritans abound at Bexleyheath Academy

Today outside our school in the pouring rain stood a lady Irene who was blind with her guide dog. Irene was upset and in considerable distress.

Her guide dog Pearl had taken her away from her normal route and they were both lost.

Two of our girls offered to help and took Irene and Pearl back to The Broadway so that they could find their bearings. Irene was hugely grateful and they both found their way home. Mr Glen Bone waited by the school gates to ensure the girls were safe.

The two girls (pictured opposite) were Emily Rushbrooke and Ellie Small both in Year 11.

Also two other members of staff supported a man of 102 today who was confused and lost while they were on their lunch break.

They took the man back to his house to ensure that he was safe. The two members of staff were Caroline Bourne and Elaine Wills.

It all goes to show what wonderful students and staff we have here at Bexleyheath Academy and that we are a caring school at the very centre of our community.
