Tom Holland Year 13 is seen here demonstrating his awesome skills on the 18th hole of the legendary Old Course at St Andrews. This is a course where the golfing greats have played and Tom is aspiring to be among their select number.
Golf has a special place in my heart as my grandfather Bill Dawson was the golf professional here in Bexleyheath during the 1930's and 1940's. He was a very fine golfer and like everyone else at that time was forced to put away his clubs at the outbreak of World War 2 when he joined the RAF as a Pilot Officer in Bomber Command.
He would have loved to watch Tom's golfing career unfold and would have marvelled at his achievements.
Tom has represented Kent in the Under 13's, under 14's and 16's and regularly plays at Birchwood Park Golf Club. Tom won the Lamberhurst Junior Open and has also enjoyed the highly sought 'hole in one' !
Tom would like to pursue a career as a professional golfer and coach and hopes to follow a foundation degree in coaching at Birmingham University.
When not honing his skills on golf courses around the country Tom enjoys football and is a keen supporter of Chelsea Football Club.
Tom is an exemplary young man in every way and we wish him every possible success in the future. We can all watch and enjoy his golfing success as he powers his way to the very top of his game!
