Bexleyheath Academy Internship Programme

Bexleyheath Academy is committed to producing employable young people with the skills, knowledge and experience necessary for the world of work. It was this commitment that inspired the school to create the innovative Bexleyheath Academy Internship Programme.

The programme offers a professional learning pathway for students who wish to enter the world of work after leaving the 6th form.  In addition to studying for their A-Levels and/or BTECs, interns participate in professional placements of one day a week for 10 weeks.  Interns are expected to complete two 10 week placements and may also complete a third placement if their academic constraints allow.  These work-related experiences are complemented by management and leadership courses and projects.  Students on the programme will also receive a qualification for the professional competencies (also known as skills) that they develop throughout the internship.

Students that wish to follow a different pathway and/or progress to university will also benefit from the employer and university links developed by the Academy.   Pupils will be offered the opportunity to participate in leadership and management courses and will also be given opportunities to enhance their UCAS forms and CVs through shorter work placements and university visits.

Further details about the programme can be found here.
